I’ve worked in digital marketing for 22 years now. My journey started in a small advertising agency where we sold digital advertising in Ibero-American markets. To put it bluntly, it was a disaster. Management was ridiculous, there were barely any clients, and by 2002, we were about to feel the pressure from the first dot-com bubble burst.
Somehow, I managed to keep the agency afloat thanks to a handful of online casino and sports betting clients. How did I find them? By clicking on the “Advertising” link in a popular file-sharing service of those days and realizing that they had massive inventory to sell anywhere in the world. That moment of insight was enough to pay the bills.
After two years of navigating that chaos, a couple of colleagues and I had enough of mismanagement. We decided to strike out on our own, founding our own agency. A couple of years later, I secured my first full-time job in the iGaming industry, where I continue to work to this day. Over the years, I’ve led marketing departments, held CMO positions, and orchestrated digital campaigns on a massive scale.
I’ve worked across a range of channels, from banner display advertising to Google AdWords, SEO, and weekly newsletters. I’ve even run television advertising campaigns in diverse markets such as Spain, Brazil, and Colombia. Additionally, I’ve spearheaded major sponsorship deals, negotiating and executing high-visibility partnerships with properties such as Atlético de Madrid, the Brazilian Paulista Championship, and the Copa Libertadores.
