Detailed Review
Notion is a powerhouse for marketers looking to centralize documentation, project tracking, and collaboration. It offers an intuitive block-based editor that allows users to create everything from simple notes to complex project management dashboards.
One of Notion’s biggest strengths is its customizable databases. Marketers can create content calendars, campaign trackers, and knowledge bases that integrate seamlessly with their workflows. Compared to tools like Evernote, Notion provides deeper structure and better team collaboration.
The downside? It can be overwhelming for new users due to its flexibility. Unlike Asana or Trello, which have predefined structures, Notion requires some setup to fully leverage its capabilities.
Our Take
We had been using Evernote for 10 years and the first interaction with Notion was not the best. As pure note taker app, which is what Evernote does, we prefer Evernote. However, quickly the differences start showing up: It allow for better collaboration. It allows for full on wikis and other tools. It has full project management templates which we prefer to Trello’s. It can create data bases of contacts, of leads, of what football teams are sponsored by whom, you name it. And it integrates with AI.
For example, we created a content management tool for +10 sites where we would throw a news story into one line and the AI tool would create slightly different stories for each of our sites.
We also created a database to store the results from all our campaigns. We could have used any other tools, but it was quick to set up in Notion and to set its collaborators.
Right now we can’t do much without Notion, down to using it as project management tool to set up this site and as content planner to manage all of its content.
